A new book by Richard Dunkley.
The Book Chair Stories, Spaces and Places, is now available.
Chair Stories is not a furniture catalogue, but Richard Dunkley’s beautifully perceived, often witty observations of the places where we sit, lounge, recline and watch the world.
This is a photographic essay inspired by Matisse. Chairs have a world of their own and the images give centre stage to this everyday object, evoking stories in the manner of classic street photography.
Taken from a twenty year project across Europe, the ten chapters include Paris, Matisse (Vence location reportage), London, Cafes, Gardens, Benches and more.
